A few months ago we lost one of the finest actors this world has seen, Irrfan Khan.
As you can see, unlike our usual lists, this one’s a little different. But our purpose remains the same, to bring you a collection of good movies to watch.
This article is the closest to us because of the emotional bond we share with it. Irrfan Khan was a natural actor, in an industry filled with nepotism and muscular physiques, he managed to established himself as one of the greatest.
Working his way gradually from the television industry to the movies, accredited with hundreds of awards, national and international. He was one of the few actors who managed to break the barriers of Hollywood and Bollywood, he did a bunch of British and Hollywood movies to be recognized to the world.
What we love about Irrfan was his ability to play the “middle-class man” perfectly , it was one of things that made his audience connect with him really well.
He wasn’t the usual Bollywood actor whom you would see dancing around with a heroine and fighting the goons. Most of his movies contained a message, a plot, a deep meaning.
A very good duo of Hind- medium ( 2017) and English Medium (2020) are one of his greatest comedies. English medium, which released just a few weeks ago, his last movie.
Even after making huge success in the film industry, he wasn’t afraid to take a side-role as you would see with most Bollywood actors.
Spending around 25 years making movies, he was able to build an image that “if irrfan is in the movie, then it must be a good one”. Irrfan did movies in all kinds of genres , during his later years we saw a lot of black or dark comedy movies from him such as Karwaan, Blackmail, or piku.
He played various types of characters but his villain characters were always much talked about. He played short roles in a number of english language movies like Inferno, Jurassic World, Life of Pi, The amazing Spider-man, New York, I love you, Slumdog Millionaire, The Darljeeling Limited and many more. His association with all these movies tells us a lot about his capabilites to perfom in any character and in any language.
He won the National film award (India) for a biographical movie “Paan Singh Tomar”. His awards cabinet include the likes of “Padma Shri”, “Outstanding Achievement in International Cinema”, “CNN- Indian of the year”, the list goes on.
He played important side characters in a lot of good movies such as Haider, New York, Mumbai meri Jaan, D-day, and a lot more.
He may not be with us anymore but he’ll still be in our heart. He’ll still remain with us as long as these heart-touching movies remain with us. By his movies and his acting, by his life’s work we’ll make sure that such a gem is never lost. Those big sulky eyes and that husky voice, that perfectly timed humour will always remain with us.
I haven’t seen many of his films, but I absolutely loved his performance in The Lunchbox.

Totally agree with you, The Lunchbox was a really good movie with a fine performance. You should watch piku and the namesake also ( although all the above mentioned movies are great)
